Precision Environmental was engaged to complete the removal of asbestos cement sheeting from two external porch areas and asbestos eaves located beneath a side porch adjacent to a swimming pool at a residential property in Kew.
The client had understandable concerns about the presence of asbestos in frequently used external areas. From the initial discussion, our priority was to clearly explain the removal process, answer all questions, and structure the works in a way that maximised safety and reassurance throughout the project.
All works were completed externally only, with no asbestos materials entering the dwelling at any stage. External asbestos work zones were established, including compliant barricading and signage. Floorboards were carefully removed to allow safe access to the asbestos cement sheeting below, and all materials were removed using controlled methods to minimise disturbance.
Removed asbestos materials were safely lowered to ground level, sealed and labelled on site, and loaded directly for transport to an EPA licensed disposal facility. All works were carried out in accordance with WorkSafe Victoria regulations and EPA Victoria requirements, with full disposal documentation provided on completion.
Projects like this are common in older Melbourne homes where asbestos is often present in external porches, subfloor structures, and eaves. Correct planning, clear communication, and licensed removal are essential to ensure safety for occupants, neighbours, and surrounding properties.
Precision Environmental provides licensed asbestos removal across Melbourne and regional Victoria, delivering compliant, well planned solutions with a strong focus on safety and client confidence from start to finish.
