Precision Environmental completed a full asbestos cement roof removal at a large warehouse on Keys Road in Moorabbin. The existing roof was heavily weathered and had reached a point where deterioration posed an ongoing asbestos risk. The client required the roof removed safely so the building could be upgraded and brought back into operational use.
Safe access to the asbestos cement sheets was achieved with elevated work platforms. Exclusion zones were established inside and outside the warehouse to keep all other workers clear of the removal area. The project was carried out in strict accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 and WorkSafe Victoria’s asbestos removal requirements.
Each sheet of asbestos cement was removed in controlled sections to limit breakage and fibre release. Sheets were lowered directly to the ground, wrapped immediately and placed into lined bins for EPA permitted transport to a licensed asbestos disposal facility. Once removal was complete, all work areas were cleaned, visually checked and prepared for the next stage of the client’s redevelopment works.
This project demonstrates the controlled approach required for industrial asbestos roofing in Moorabbin and surrounding manufacturing precincts. The client now has a clean, compliant structure ready for new roofing installation.
