We attended a residential property at 120 Second Avenue, Altona North to carry out asbestos sampling prior to planned refurbishment works.
Given the age of the property, insulation and flooring materials were identified as potential asbestos containing materials and required confirmation before works could proceed.
All samples were collected safely and submitted to a NATA accredited laboratory for testing.
Scope of Sampling
- Insulation material
- Internal flooring material
- Laundry floor material
Each sample was taken in a controlled manner to avoid disturbance and prevent any potential fibre release.
Laboratory Results
All samples returned no asbestos detected.
- Insulation identified as natural organic fibre
- Flooring materials confirmed as non-asbestos
Outcome
The client was able to proceed with refurbishment works immediately without the need for asbestos removal.
This avoided unnecessary costs and ensured the project could continue without delays.
Why This Matters
Materials like insulation and older flooring are commonly suspected to contain asbestos. Proper sampling and testing removes the guesswork and ensures the right approach is taken before any works begin.
