Mould isn’t always visible. We get called to jobs all the time where the real issue is hidden behind plaster, under flooring, or inside ceiling voids. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Here are a few signs we look out for.
Musty smell
If there’s a damp smell that won’t go away even after cleaning it’s often a sign that mould is growing out of sight behind walls or floors.
Peeling paint or bubbling walls
Moisture trapped behind surfaces causes paint to lift or blister especially in bathrooms or laundries.
Health symptoms
If you or your team have ongoing sinus issues, headaches or coughing in one part of the house or office it could be from airborne mould spores.
Past water damage
Had a leak burst pipe or flood in the last 12 months If it wasn’t properly dried out mould is probably active behind the scenes.
