Project Categories

Full asbestos removal works completed across multiple warehouse buildings in Richmond as part of an active commercial redevelopment. All works were delivered under Class B asbestos controls with lawful transport and disposal at an EPA licensed facility.

What we removed
As part of this large scale redevelopment, Precision Environmental completed asbestos removal works across both warehouse buildings located at 32 Wangaratta Street, Richmond and 57 Stewart Street, Richmond.

The scope included the removal and disposal of asbestos roof sheeting, asbestos cement ceiling linings, and asbestos floor tiles within amenities areas. Additional works involved the removal of asbestos window mastic, asbestos containing glass within existing window assemblies, and the careful cleaning of window frames where required.

Internally, our team removed asbestos cement ceiling sheeting and associated plaster ceilings above staircases, along with asbestos containing bulkheads and ceiling linings at stair entrances. We also completed the removal of asbestos containing box gutters connected to the ground floor structure.

Across both warehouses, further works included the removal of asbestos containing elements associated with saw tooth window sections, based on confirmed positive asbestos test results. All materials were safely handled, double wrapped, and transported to an EPA licensed facility for lawful disposal in accordance with Victorian regulations.

How we managed safety and compliance
These works were completed within an active redevelopment environment, requiring detailed planning and strict asbestos control procedures. We established compliant exclusion zones, installed asbestos warning signage, and implemented controlled wet removal methods to minimise airborne fibre release. Materials were carefully handled and lowered to prevent breakage, with continuous housekeeping maintained throughout the project.

All asbestos waste was sealed, labelled, and removed from site by a licensed transporter for disposal at an approved EPA facility. Final cleaning of all work areas was completed using HEPA vacuuming and wet wipe methods in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 and WorkSafe Victoria asbestos removal requirements.

Outcome
All nominated asbestos containing materials were safely removed across both warehouse buildings, allowing redevelopment works to proceed without delay. The project demonstrates our ability to manage complex asbestos scopes across multiple structures, maintaining full compliance, clear documentation, and safe outcomes on large commercial redevelopment sites in Melbourne.
