Precision Environmental was engaged by Building Engineering to carry out extensive asbestos removal works at 318–322 Little Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD. The site contained asbestos across several tenancies and required a staged approach to ensure safe removal without disrupting surrounding businesses.

Our scope included the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing vinyl floor tiles from multiple areas, including retail tenancies, subfloor spaces, storage rooms, and large open-plan hospitality areas. Key areas included Shop 7 (with subfloor debris), Shop 1A reception and change areas, Shop 1B rooms and wet areas, Shop 1C, as well as extensive Level 1 and Level 2 spaces including kitchens, bars, dance floor, VIP areas, storage rooms, staff amenities, and bathrooms.

In addition, asbestos-containing electrical switchboards were safely removed and disposed of from the Shop 1A alterations area and the lift room. We also carried out the removal of asbestos cement sheet from the lift room, roof above the Level 1 toilets, and the main roof above Level 2.

All works were undertaken under full containment, using negative pressure systems, HEPA vacuums, and wet wiping to prevent fibre release. Waste was wrapped, labelled, and transported to an EPA-licensed disposal facility. The project was completed under our Class A and B asbestos licences, in full compliance with WorkSafe Victoria and EPA Victoria requirements.

If you are managing a commercial site in the Melbourne CBD with asbestos hazards, Precision Environmental provides safe, compliant, and efficient asbestos remediation for builders, owners, and facility managers.
