Precision Environmental was engaged by Building Engineering to manage a complex, multi-stage asbestos removal project at Scotch College in Hawthorn. The job spanned over 12 months and was completed in January 2025, with most of the high-impact work carried out during the Christmas break to minimise disruption.

The scope covered a wide range of high-risk removals, including friable asbestos from structural beams in student accommodation and roof spaces, as well as asbestos vinyl tiles, ductwork, and AC sheeting throughout the facility. We also carried out a full clean-up of asbestos-contaminated dust inside wall cavities and service risers.

All works were delivered under our Class A and B asbestos licences, with detailed staging plans to allow other parts of the school to remain in use while our removal teams worked in isolated zones. Negative air units, full enclosures, and independent air monitoring were used across all friable areas.

Despite the complexity and long timeline, the job was delivered without incident and with full clearance certification from the independent hygienist.

If you’re managing asbestos in a live school, boarding house, or staged redevelopment, Precision Environmental has the experience and systems to deliver it safely and without disruption.
