Precision Environmental was engaged by BMC Demolition to carry out large-scale asbestos removal works at 95 Geelong Road, Werribee. This project involved complex internal areas including laboratories, plant rooms and staff amenities, all requiring careful planning and strict compliance with WorkSafe Victoria and EPA Victoria standards.
Scope of Works
Our team provided all labour, materials, equipment and EPA-licensed disposal for the safe removal of asbestos cement sheeting from:
- Laboratory benches across the Technical Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, and Oven & Freezer Room
- Wall linings in the Clinical Room
- Asbestos cement sheeting located at the hose reel in the lab area
- Splashbacks and wall linings behind ceramic tiles in male and female toilets and lockers
- Bench linings beneath steel tops in both the Microbiology and Technical Laboratories
- Upper infill wall panels in the Basic Agronometric Laboratory
- Ceilings within the Plant Room and Basic Agronometric Laboratory
- Associated asbestos debris located near the hose reel
Access and sequencing were carefully managed in line with demolition staging, including full clearance of the Plant Room to allow safe access to ceiling linings.
Compliance and Safety
All asbestos was removed under our Class A licence (H17/01358) and disposed of at EPA-approved facilities. Decontamination units and exclusion zones were established on site, and works were completed in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017.
A five-day WorkSafe notification was lodged prior to commencement, and EPA dockets were provided upon disposal. Air monitoring and hygienist clearance were coordinated as required by the client.
Outcome
The works were delivered safely, on time, and to full compliance standards, allowing BMC Demolition to progress their demolition schedule without delays.
